The Black Hills Spruce is a popular landscape tree, noted for its vibrant, dark-green foliage and attractive natural conical form. The foliage is very dense, making this tree ideal for natural privacy screens. 
 
Grows best in acidic, moist loams with full sun, but is adaptable to a variety of conditions such as shade, drought, heat and cold. It is flood intolerant and is sensitive to soil compaction. Grows to a mature height of 30'-60' with a spread of 15'-25'.
